Our Story
Kidistan was born from a simple but powerful observation: Indian children today have access to more content than any generation before them — yet almost none of it speaks to their own world.
They can watch endless cartoons and read thousands of stories online, but how many of those stories are set in the lanes of a Rajasthani village, or begin with the smell of Onam sadya, or feature a grandmother telling Panchatantra tales by lamplight?
Kidistan exists to fill that gap.
We are a dedicated platform for Indian children aged 5 to 14, and for the parents who are raising them — wherever in the world they may be. Whether your family lives in Mumbai or Melbourne, in Chennai or Canada, Kidistan is a place where your child’s cultural roots come alive through stories, festivals, folk tales, crafts, and activities that feel genuinely, warmly Indian.
What We Offer
Festival Stories
Every Indian festival has a story behind it. We bring those stories to life in age-appropriate, engaging language that kids actually enjoy reading. From the lights of Diwali to the harvest joy of Pongal, from the colours of Holi to the spirit of Eid — every celebration finds a home here.
Folk Tales from Every Corner of India
India is not one story. It is thousands of stories, told in hundreds of languages, across dozens of states. Kidistan curates and retells folk tales, legends, and fables from every region — Tenali Raman’s wit, the wisdom of Panchatantra, the folk heroes of Bengal, the desert tales of Rajasthan and beyond.
Crafts & Activities
Learning happens best through doing. Our craft guides, colouring pages, and activity ideas are rooted in Indian traditions — making Rangoli, creating Diwali diyas, designing festival cards — designed to be easy enough for children to complete independently or with a parent’s light guidance.
For Parents
Raising culturally connected children in the modern world is genuinely challenging. Our parenting content offers practical, thoughtful guidance on nurturing bilingualism, sharing cultural traditions at home, choosing meaningful bedtime stories, and building a child’s sense of identity and belonging.
Our Mission
Kidistan’s mission is to ensure that every Indian child — regardless of where they grow up — has access to the stories, traditions, and cultural knowledge that form the foundation of who they are.
A child who knows the story of Diwali understands something deeper than a holiday. A child who has heard Panchatantra tales carries a library of wisdom. A child who has made Rangoli with their own hands has touched something timeless.
Our Promise to Parents
Every piece of content on Kidistan is:
- Age-appropriate — written and reviewed with children aged 5–14 in mind
- Culturally authentic — researched carefully, not written carelessly
- Educationally grounded — created by our content team
- Safe — Kidistan is a family-friendly platform with no inappropriate content
We are committed to being a platform that parents trust and children love.
Something Exciting is Coming
Kidistan is growing. Beyond our current library of stories and activities, we are developing new features and tools that will make the experience even more personal and meaningful for Indian families. Stay tuned — and subscribe to our newsletter to be the first to know.
